Lincoln, N | Trip Difficulty Rating System We rate the difficulty of our tours on a five-point scale. This rating reflects the tour's overall terrain, not it's length. 1.0 A simple ride with no climbs. 2.0 A mostly flat ride with some easy hills. Climbs rarely exceed 400 feet and are limited to a few hundred yards. 3.0Mixed terrain: stretches of flat road interspersed with rolling hills. Climbs may exceed 800 feet and may extend 2-4 miles.
4.0 Hilly terrain with grades that occasionally top 8-10%. A few climbs extend more than 5 miles.
5.0 Mountainous terrain whose passes sometimes climb more than 15% and cover up to 7 miles.
