Slovenia’s compact size belies its sophistication and rugged beauty. From dazzling coastal vistas to verdant farmlands; from the soaring Julian Alps to the concert halls of Ljubljana, Slovenia truly is the Mouse that Roared.

 

DAY 1: Ljubljana arrival and transfer to Lake bled

From the airport, we’ll be whisked to breathtaking Lake Bled. Once there, we’ll dine in a cliff top castle with a commanding view of the surrounding mountains.

 

DAY 2: Lake Bohinj loop ride

Our first ride takes us to Triglavski National Park and the banks of serene Lake Bohinj. For the full alpine effect, we’ll be airlifted by gondola to a ski resort for a panoramic view of the majestic Julian Alps. Afterwards, we’ll enjoy a light lunch before our return trip to the lake.

DAY 3: Bled to Kranjska Gora

Today we press deeper into the Julian Alps, traversing mountain passes, high meadows, and bubbling mountain streams. We'll end in Slovenia's premiere ski resort town of Kranjska Gora.

DAY 4: Soca Valley ride

We'll start today with a transfer from Kranjska Gora to Trenta, navigating the Vrsic pass (Slovenia's highest) with its awe-inspiring views. From there, we'll cycle towards the coast along the Soca River, ending in the town of Tolmin.

DAY 5: Karst Region ride

The Karst region, renowned for its red wine, prosciutto and artisanal cheese, has been called the Slovenian Tuscany. Today’s ride includes a stop at the Lipica horse stables, home to the world famous Lipica Stallions. After a brief transfer to Piran, the day is yours to explore this romantic Venetian port town. Be sure to sample the local catch in one of its many fine seafood restaurants.

DAY 6: Ljubljana Layover day

En route to Ljubljana, we’ll stop in Postojna whose magnificent cave system is a UNESCO World Heritage site. After touring the caves we’ll press on toward Ljubljana, the picturesque and inviting Slovenian capital. The National Gallery and Museum of Modern Art showcase the best of Slovenia’s rich cultural heritage. But perhaps the best way to experience Ljubljana is to linger over drinks at a riverside cafe.

 

DAY 7: Krka to Otocec

Today’s ride follows the crystalline Krka River through its namesake valley. The route is dotted with rustic villages, castles, and vineyards. We’ll end our ride at the mesmerizing Castle Hotel Otocec, situated on an island in the river. This storybook structure's mix of Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque features reflects its long and varied history. We’ll gather in the stately courtyard for a farewell dinner.

DAY 8: Depart Ljubljana

After our final breakfast together, we'll say our goodbyes before transferring to Ljubljana airport.
