A Typical Day

The evening before each cycling day, CBT guides meet with you to discuss the next day's route, noting sightseeing opportunities along the way. Rather than dictate your schedule, they let you set your own course and pace. You may decide to take a break from cycling to hang glide in the Swiss Alps, sail along Holland's North Sea Coast, or go horseback riding in Provence. You may even opt out of a day's segment altogether and hop a train to our next destination. It's completely up to you!

The majority of the time, cycling days are spent on secluded country roads or dedicated bike paths. Most people ride in groups of two to eight people, though you may prefer to ride by yourself for a change of pace. Rest assured, you won't be left behind; a CBT staff member trails even the most leisurely traveler. And remember, the CBT sag wagon is available to lend a hand should you need a break from cycling.

Tours intersperse riding segments with layover days which you can spend as you choose. On these days, we've arranged private tours of local points of interest (winery tours, historical walks, and so on). While these excursions are included in your trip cost, they're entirely optional - feel free to spend your time as you please. Optional rides are also available on layover days.
